Zone control temperature for random roommates

I recently moved to a new city for a job, and I wasn’t sure what to do for a living situation. I wasn’t quite ready to buy a place of my own, so I decided to rent a place that I found online. The house was shared with three other people, and I was a little nervous about having roommates that I didn’t know. It had been since college that I had roommates, and I wasn’t sure how we would get along. Luckily, it turned out to be a really easy, low-stress situation. The people in the house were all in similar positions as me. They needed a temporary place to stay, and we all kept to ourselves for the most part. One of the things that made this arrangement so ideal was that there was zone controlled temperature control. For me, I like to keep my bedroom on the chilly side. I blast the air conditioner all summer long. Even in the winter, I keep the heat on the lowest possible setting. I like to sleep under a bunch of blankets, so it makes sense that I keep it so cold. However, I worried that I would have to adjust these habits to be considerate of my roommates’ temperature preferences. Because of the zone control, we are all able to keep our bedrooms and bathrooms at whatever temperature we prefer. That way, I can be comfortable, but I never have to worry about bothering anyone else. We keep the common areas at a neutral level of warmth, and everyone is happy. It turned out to be the perfect living situation for me. Once I work with my new company for a while, I will buy a place of my own. For now, I am happy here.
