Me and my wife just didn’t get it. We thought we were doing everything we could to get the most out of our HVAC unit. We had recently moved into a new home, well, a home that was new to us anyway. We installed a brand new central heating and air conditioning system before moving into the home. The old one was well on its way out anyway and we wanted to start fresh. That’s what we thought we were doing. Despite the fact that we had a brand spanking new system, complications seemed to develop a lot faster than they should have. The air flow throughout the house, whether heating or cooling, seemed to get less and less strong over time. Before long, we were scratching our heads wondering why on Earth the interior temperature of our home just could not match what we set on the thermostat. We ended up calling out an HVAC technician far sooner than we thought we would have to. His inspection revealed that there wasn’t really anything all that wrong with a brand new heating and air conditioner unit itself. When he examined the air ducts, however, it was immediately obvious what the problem was. Not only were the air ducts clogged with an excessive amount of dirt and debris, but there were also holes in some places throughout the ducts. This was causing absolutely horrid airflow and the ducts needed to be patched and cleaned immediately! When it was all said and done, our air conditioner and heating unit started running like brand-new, like it should have from the beginning!
